Joyce Brown Clark was born in Los Angeles, CA, on April 29, 1916. Joyce Brown grew up in Laguna Beach and studied painting there with Bennett Bradbury. After her education at UCLA, she was a commercial artist for several years before turning to oil painting and mosaic murals. In 1939 she married Marshall Clark and continued living in Laguna. From 1970-95 she lived and worked on the island of Maui. She then continued painting and lived in Sunriver, Oregon, until her demise in 2010.
